Written Jan 15, 2020:
Hey guys! I’m back again with another update. We have now been on outreach for three weeks now and it’s been so eye opening and life changing. This week was our last week in Dzaleka and we are moving on to our next spot at Lake Malawi for the week on Monday.
For our last week of ministry starting where we left off, Wednesday morning we were supposed to do door-to-door ministry as we on weekday mornings but it rained ALL morning. So instead we had worship and intercession time and then personal time with God for devotion and bible reading, and we worked on our testimonies as well. That evening, we split into three teams and went to two churches and widow ministry. I was on the team for widow ministry and we went to a few houses then went back for the night.

Thursday we did door to door in the morning and in the afternoon church ministry and widow ministry which was so impactful to see how much hope and joy people still carry even in the worst of circumstances.
Friday was a big day. We did carpenter ministry in the morning and had a wonderful time encouraging and teaching the gospel to those working there to learn the craft. We even taught each other songs and danced together. That afternoon we had our first open air as an outreach team and were able to perform the gospel skit in front of people for the first time. We had such a great time and I had the opportunity to explain the gospel skit and offer the opportunity to come to Jesus and we saw 25 salvations! It was an amazing opportunity and I am so privileged to get to do this.

Saturday was our rest day and we did laundry and got ourselves ready for leaving Monday morning and for church Sunday.
Sunday I had the opportunity to speak a word in church again! And this time at our home church in Dzaleka. It was a great morning and I can’t believe that they trusted me to hear a word from God and speak on it, it was such a privilege. I was also touched by the way they praise God. They use their whole body’s and go for it with everything they have. Their praise is a celebration and I feel like western countries could use a bit of their zeal for God. I was so encourage by their dancing and singing to God. Sunday night we peeled potatoes until dark and ate a delicious last dinner of Chapatti and beef and fried potatoes. We also had an opportunity to bless the family who hosted us and they blessed us as well as we spent a time of encouragement.

Monday has been crazy. We took a minibus to the capital Lilongwe where I got so inspired by one of our teammates Sharon who made friends with and prayed over 4 people on the hour ride. Then after negotiations about surprise price differences got on another mini bus to Mangochi and got off at Sun n’ Sand resort at Lake Malawi!

What is crazy to me though is that this morning we woke up in a refugee camp where the people have nothing and by 3 pm we were in a lakeside resort eating nice food at a restaurant. I feel so thankful to have this opportunity almost to the point of feeling bad. It’s not fair that some people have these things and others don’t even get the chance. I feel so blessed to come from the background I do and to have had the chances to go see the world.

We’re now going to bed in our cabin we’re staying in at the lake which is so nice. It has running water and flushing toilets and electricity and I am so incredibly thankful for it.

Until next time! Thank you so much for your continued prayers and support. Hugs from Lake Malawi!
