Hello! Welcome back! This week has been so crazy! We had plenty of great things, and some not so good ones happen this week. It has been a week of spiritual warfare and emotional struggle, but God has already won!
Our topic this week was about authority and submission taught by Ari Sloots. We learned that submission is an attitude and obedience is an action and that we need to be fully submitted and obedient to God. I also learned that I need to always have a good attitude and submitted heart towards authority, even if someone doesn’t deserve it, and that I should still stick to my convictions and what God says about things when it comes to obedience, all while having a submitted heart.
This week I really learned how much I can let my emotions cloud my thoughts and actions instead of looking to God first and acting out of His character.
On Wednesday we decorated Christmas cookies and hung out with some people on base which was fun and that night all us YP girls got together and had our own time of prayer and intercession. Then we were able to open up about things we were struggling with and pray for each other which brought us so much closer together!

Thursday was thanksgiving which was strange to think about not being with my family, but the cool part of it was that we all got to tell each person in the DTS individually what we were thankful for about them as an expression of thanks. Plus there was a Christmas booth set up where you could get your picture taken with funny props and hats and balloons so we as a base had ours taken. I don’t have that picture but I do have this one…

Friday we went on evangelism and had a great Friday night meeting, and Saturday I went with some friends to a fundraiser another DTS did for outreach. We had delicious fruit bowls and listened to good music on a beautiful day. Can’t say no to that!

After that, we went into the city to run some errands and buy a cake for our YeJi’s birthday on Sunday! We decorated the classroom and waited until midnight when it became Sunday and brought her in for a surprise party! It was so fun and I’m glad we were able to celebrate with her.

Today we had what we call Weekend Service on the base. Half of YP and various other staff and students spent the day keeping up the base by doing things like prepping food for meals, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning windows, and doing dishes, etc. It was very exhausting but was actually pretty fun and rewarding. Every weekend, the people who do weekend service are alternated so those who cook and clean the base during the whole week can have a break.
Also, all week this week I spent my free time working on a short video for our DTS to help raise funds for our outreach teams. It was motivating to have a film project to work on, even if it was kind of on the fly. I filmed some on Monday, me and Josiah recorded ourselves singing a worship song he wrote, and I collected various videos from myself and other people from these last two months. It was a lot of work but was worth it. I hope all of you enjoy it too. It is short, but I think it shows a bit about YWAM Perth and my DTS.
Also random fact, we got to hear Elton John sing from across the street two nights in a row. Our dorms are across the street from a stadium and we heard him sing all his popular songs from our room the last couple of nights which has been cool. I didn’t realize how many Elton John songs I knew 😂
That’s it for this week! Thank you all for the support and love and especially the prayers! I can’t begin to describe how thankful I am for all of you!! Hugs from Perth!
